Eligibility (UNDERC-Track 1)

  • Undergraduates
  • Research experience not necessary
  • Special consideration given to Native American and Puerto Rican students

  • Need to have had at least one summer or semester of research experience
  • Special consideration given to Native American and Puerto Rican students
  • Interest in pursuing ecological or environmental science field research

Students identify grass species at UNDERC-West

  • $5000 summer stipend
  • Free housing
  • Transportation between Notre Dame campus and UNDERC provided
  • $500 research budget for materials and supplies (Track 2)

The Application

Acceptance

  • Acceptance letters sent early in December
  • Notre Dame students register for spring orientation course (Track 1)
  • Off-campus students participate in spring orientation course (Track 1)
  • Mentors for independent research projects assigned to students in April
